                       একটি শীতের সকাল                                       

আজ চারিদিক ঘন কুয়াশায় আচ্ছন্ন হয়ে আছে। সমস্ত প্রকৃতি শান্ত ও নিরব, কোন শব্দ কানে এসে পৌঁছাচ্ছেনা। শীতের এই অলসতার আবহাওয়ায় সকলেই আচ্ছন্ন হয়ে আছে। এরই মাঝে সূর্য তাঁর সারারাতের আলস্য কাটিয়ে মুচকি হেসে দেখা দিয়েছে। আজ তার সেই পুরাতন তাপ ও তেজ ততটা প্রখর নয়, আলোও  স্নিগ্ধ। তাঁর এই উষ্ণতা আজ সকলের কাছে খুবই আরামদায়ক।

            পাখিরা ভোরের আলো প্রস্ফুটিত হওয়ামাত্র নিজেদের বাসা থেকে বেরিয়ে পড়েছে খোলা আকাশে উড়বার জন্য। কিন্তু চারদিকে ঘন কুয়াশায় ঢেকে থাকায় সেই অতি পরিচিত আকাশ আজ নজরে আসছে না। তাই পাখিরাও ধীরে ধীরে  অদৃশ্য হয়ে যাচ্ছে। মনে হচ্ছে, তারা যেন এক অন্য কোন দেশে গিয়ে পৌঁছে গেছে আবার কখনো মনে হচ্ছে যে, তারা এই কুয়াশার চাদরে নিজেকে সম্পূর্ণ ঢেকে রেখেছে তাই আর নজরে আসছে না।

              ঘাসের ওপর পা মারাতেই মনে হচ্ছে, সেগুলো যেন হালকা বৃষ্টিতে ভিজে রয়েছে। চারিদিকে এক অপূর্ব শান্তি বিরাজ করছে।  গাছগুলো যেন তাদের নিদ্রার আলস্যতা কাটিয়ে উঠতে পারেনি। পাতাঝরা বৃক্ষ গুলি তাদের পাতা ঝরিয়ে পুনরায় নতুন পাতা জন্মাবার জন্য বসন্তের অপেক্ষায় আছে।

               নদীর জল এতটাই শান্তভাবে বয়ে চলেছে যে আপাতদৃষ্টিতে মনে হচ্ছে নদীটি তাঁর গতিবেগ হারিয়েছে। আজ তাঁর ওপর দিয়ে হেঁটে পারাপার করা যাবে। নদীর এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত কিছুই চোখে পড়ছে না। 

              রাস্তাঘাটও জনমানব শূন্য, রাস্তার একপাশে আম, জাম, বট, নিম গাছগুলি স্থির হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।কোথাও কারোর কোনো ব্যস্ততা নেই, সবার  যেন আজ ছুটি।  শীতল বাতাসের স্পর্শে শীতের অনুভূতি আরও তীব্র হয়ে উঠেছে। সমস্ত প্রকৃতি যেন কুয়াশার চাদর মুড়ি এক অসামান্য, অপূর্ব রূপ ধারণ করে নবসজ্জায় সজ্জিত হয়ে আছে। 

               শীতের এই অপরিকল্পিত চিরনতুন রূপটি আমাকেও মুগ্ধ করেছে।

                                                                                

English translation

                   A winter morning

Today it is shrouded in thick fog all around. All nature is calm and silent, no sound reaching the ears. Everyone is obsessed with this lazy weather of winter. In the meantime, Surya has cut his laziness of the night and appeared smiling. Today, his old heat and energy is not so strong, the light is soft. His warmth is very comfortable for everyone today.

                          As soon as the morning light dawned, the birds came out of their nests to fly in the open sky. But the well-known sky is not visible today as it is covered with thick fog all around. So the birds are slowly disappearing. It seems as if they have reached another country and sometimes it seems as if they have completely covered themselves in this sheet of fog so they are no longer visible.

                    As soon as you step on the grass, it looks as if they are soaked in light rain. There is a wonderful peace all around. The trees could not overcome their laziness. Deciduous trees are waiting for spring to shed their leaves and regrow new leaves.

                    The water of the river is flowing so calmly that it seems that the river has lost its speed. Today you can cross over on foot. Nothing is visible from one end of the river to the other. 

                  The roads are also empty of people, mango, blackberry and neem trees are standing on one side of the road. No one is busy anywhere, everyone seems to be on holiday today. The feeling of winter has become more intense with the touch of cool air. All of nature is adorned with a unique, wonderful look, wrapped in a sheet of fog.

This unplanned winter look has fascinated me too.
